GROOVATRON
|
Born & raised in the tranquil Jezreel Valley, in a small kibbutz, called Mizra, Ziva began her musical affair playing the Cello, when she was 9. 3 years later she began taking classical voice lessons, while replacing the Cello with the Saxophone, eager to explore new sounds. Right about that time, she also became a choir girl, singing for the next few years in various well-known choirs in Israel, performing with them across the country and in Europe.
Becoming increasingly drawn to jazz and R&B music, she soon found herself, in between milking cows, as lead singer in a funk band known as the Groovatron. This band became quite the sensation in her tranquil valley, gaining her reputation that later on landed her the lead vocal in another local sensation, known as Funkotron. In between rocking the two bands, she was called for duty in the IDF, and even though assigned a job in HR, she made her way into becoming the Naval Training Base lead singer, founded and musically managed the NTB Entertainment Group. After completing her military service, she got a scooter and relocated to the majestic Jerusalem, to study vocal jazz in the Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance. Her term in the JAMD profoundly improved her singing and songwriting skills, which she decided to take along with her overseas. Ziva now lives & creates in the delightfully inspiring San Francisco, California. |
